l’APPARTEMENT ROSE

The main historical attraction in Beaune is not a castle, but a hospital!  The Hotel-Dieu (go to www.hospices-de-beaune.com/) was built in the 15th Century to cater for the needs of the sick poor.  It is an amazing experience.

Beaune activities and sightseeing include: wine tours, bike tours in the vineyards, Beaune or wine villages city tours, Burgundy wine tasting, hiking, biking, helicopter tours, French cooking classes, hot air ballooning, climbing and outdoor activities, spa pampering and much more.

Bike riding

Bicycles can be hired from our friends Florian and Cedric at Bourgogne Randonnes. They will help you plan a beautiful bike tour up into the hills or through the vineyards.

Food & Cooking Classes

There are many places of ‘degustation’, where you can sample local wines and other produce. There is a weekly market in the main square on Saturday mornings and a smaller one on Wednesdays.

Cooking Classes

Marjorie Taylor runs The Cook’s Atelier, where you can buy wine or enrol in one of her world-renown cookery classes. She is right across the street from us in Rue de Lorraine!

World famous wine

Beaune is one of the key wine centers in France, and the center of Burgundy wine production and business. The annual wine auction of the Hospices de Beaune is the primary wine auction in France. (The hospice structure, in the town center, being one of the best preserved renaissance buildings in Europe.)
